Phil Donahue found more than just fame and fortune hosting his eponymous talk show. That’s because it was also through it that he met his wife, the actress  Marlo Thomas, in 1977. There’s even video evidence of their meet-cute, which is something not many celebrity couples can say they have!

They were wed three years later and raised Donahue’s five children from his previous marriage. With their union a resounding success, the pair published the book “What Makes A Marriage Last” in 2020. It’s chock full of advice from their famous fellow couples and might just be what regular couples need if they’re after marriage counseling.

Barbara Eden & Jon Eicholtz – Married Since 1991

Although her first two marriages didn’t work, the “I Dream Of Jeannie” star Barbara Eden didn’t lose hope when it came to finding love. Soon enough, she met architect Jon Eicholtz who became her third husband in 1991. Three decades later, the couple is still very much in love.

Asked about the secret behind their lasting romance, she told Closer Weekly is learning how to make compromises. Eden, who starred in the film “My Adventures With Santa” in 2019, said she doesn’t mind watching sports with Eicholtz. And that’s not just because she enjoys it, but because she adores her husband enough to.

Robert Downey Jr. & Susan Downey – Married Since 2005

It’s no secret that Robert Downey Jr. fell on some hard times before his career picked up again thanks to the “Iron Man” films. But not many people know that his wife Susan Downey, who he met on the set of “Gothika” in 2003, played a massive role in getting his life back on track.

Robert once told Ireland’s Evening Herald that he owes his success to the “Perry Mason” executive producer. They married in 2005 and welcomed two children over the years. The Downeys even went into business together with the launch of the production company Team Downey, which is behind the 2021 Netflix series “Sweet Tooth.”

Sylvester Stallone & Jennifer Flavin – Married Since 1997

Although Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin experienced a rocky start in their relationship, they’re proof that true love triumphs in the end. The couple met at the height of the “Rocky” star’s career in the ’80s, dating on and off until a DNA test proved he wasn’t the father of his ex Janice Dickinson’s child.

And so, Stallone and Flavin wed in 1997 and went on to raise three daughters together. Still happy, the pair left California for Florida and bought a $35 million home in the latter part of 2020. They then put their Beverly Hills residence for a whopping $110 million.

Lee Majors And Faith Majors – Together Since 2002

It took TV legend Lee Majors several tries, but he finally found a love to last in his wife, Faith Majors. Although “The Six Million Dollar Man” star is 35 years her senior, he managed to sweep her off her feet when they met and began dating in the mid-’90s.

Married since 2002, it’s also Lee who is most proud of his lasting marriage. Speaking to People magazine in 2019, he even said that their decades-long union is a “record in Hollywood”! We could say the same about his career, which began in the ’60s and continues today as he stars in the 2021 film “Narco Sub.”
