Elon Musk Shares the Story Behind His Twins’ Unusual Names
Elon Musk recently revealed the stories behind the distinctive names of his twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, drawing attention online after a shared photo sparked curiosity. The twins, rarely seen in public, carry names inspired by literature, science, and video games, reflecting Musk’s interest in pop culture and intellectual pursuits.
Musk shared that his son, Strider Sekhar, was named after Aragorn from “The Lord of the Rings”. “Strider” is the character’s well-known nickname, while the middle name, Sekhar, honors the Indian astrophysicist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, highlighting Musk’s appreciation for scientific achievement.
Their daughter, Comet Azure, received her name from the video game “Elden Ring”. Musk explained, “Comet Azure is the most powerful spell in Elden Ring.” The photo that prompted the discussion shows Musk kneeling beside his four-year-old twins, with one of the children wearing a SpaceX shirt.
Musk and Zilis also share two other children: daughter Arcadia, born in February 2024, and son Seldon, born in February 2025. The inspiration behind these names has not been disclosed.
